Killer Mike Drama At Grammys! – Rapper Gets ‘Cuffed by Cops

Atlanta rapper/activist Killer Mike was having a spectacular day at the Grammys in Downtown LA ( Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song) and then he wasn’t. That’s cause he was led out of the event in cuffs by the LAPD.

We’re still trying to get the whole story, however, a writer for The Hollywood Reporter posted a video to X showing Big Mike being escorted by police away from the venue with his hands behind his back.

Supposedly it has something to do with an alleged physical altercation.

The good news (if you can call it that) is that the Run the Jewels musician, 48, seems to be unconcerned as he’s being led away.

We assume that based on the way he’s chatting amicably with a man who is walking alongside him and the police before saying hello to someone else in a tuxedo..

Rapper Plies Slams NFL for Excessive Coverage of Taylor Swift

*Rapper Plies is slamming the NFL for “forcing” Taylor Swift on football fans. Swift has been spotted at several Kansas City Chiefs games to support her boyfriend, tight end Travis Kelce, and her influence on football is undeniable. Complex reports that the pop star has brought $331 million in value to the NFL since she started attending games.

According to a recent survey by LendingTree, Swift is reviving interest in the sport among young viewers. 13% of Americans said they’re interested in football because of the Grammy-winning artist.

CBS News reports that 16% of American consumers said the singer influenced them to spend money on football.

Ace Showbiz reports that Plies took to X/ Twitter on January 28 to call out the NFL for excessively highlighting the pop star. He wrote, “Dear @NFL Media: Can U Please Stop Forcing Taylor Swift On Football Fans!”

Plies added, “We Get It She’s At The Game & She’s A Phenomenal Artist! But Damn If We Want To See Her This Much We’ll Go To Her Concert!!”

The hip-hop star continued, “Y’all Show Her More Than Y’all Show The Owner Of The Chiefs! We Love Her But DAMN!”

Taylor previously responded to criticism over her presence at NFL games.

“I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” she told TIME magazine. “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”

Swift noted that she’s “just there to support Travis and his team.” She added, “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”

She’s Done! Kandi Burruss Says She’s Leaving ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’

The Atlanta-based celebrity has been a fixture on the Bravo reality series since 2009. Burruss was on the Grammy red carpet on Sunday (02-04-24) when she revealed her decision with Variety‘s Marc Malkin.

“I’m not really keeping up right now,” when asked about the show. “I’m not keeping up. I already said it, so I’ll tell you. I decided I’m not coming back this year. It’s been 14 seasons, and they allowed us to sit around for a little too long, but during that time I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice big projects coming soon, so I’m super excited about those things.

“But it’s not just that,” she continued. “It’s just like after you really have time to think, and a friend of mine was like, ‘Why do you keep doing it?’ And I was like, ‘Well, I think because I’ve just been doing it for so long, it feels weird to think not to do it?’ So I was just like, You know what? I’m going to take a break, I’m going to take a moment… I’m not coming back this year.'”

Even though she’s put in 14 seasons of drama on the show, it’s easy to forget she was not a part of the original cast/season. The singer/songwriter/actress joined during the series’ second season which, on the other hand, makes her the longest-serving cast member.

LIZZO’S MOTION TO THROW OUT SEXUAL HARASSMENT LAWSUIT DENIED

Lizzo has hit yet another roadblock in her bombshell sexual harassment lawsuit, as a recent attempt to dodge the legal proceedings has failed.

According to Billboard, on Friday (February 2), a judge denied the singer’s motion to throw out her sexual harassment lawsuit filed by three of her former backup dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez.

It’s important to note that while certain accusations have been dismissed — such as claims that Lizzo fat-shamed one of her dancers — the case as a whole will go to trial.

Lizzo, who is facing harassment and discrimination allegations, sought dismissal of the case under California’s anti-SLAPP statute, which aims to swiftly resolve meritless lawsuits threatening free speech. Her legal team contended that the lawsuit was an attempt to “silence” her.

However, Judge Mark H. Epstein found that the anti-SLAPP statute didn’t apply to the circumstances. “It is dangerous for the court to weigh in, ham-fisted, into constitutionally protected activity,” the judge wrote. “But it is equally dangerous to turn a blind eye to allegations of discrimination or other forms of misconduct merely because they take place in a speech-related environment.”

The judge’s decision echoes a November opposition filing submitted by the dancer’s legal team, contending that the anti-SLAPP statutes do not shield Lizzo from potential legal consequences for the allegations made against her.

LATTO SPOTTED SHOOTING VIDEO IN THE BRONX AMID ICE SPICE BEEF

Latto has been spotted shooting a video on Ice Spice’s turf in The Bronx as the two are rumored to be beefing.

While the two have not yet hit Nicki Minaj–Megan Thee Stallion levels of feuding, subliminal shots across social media and on songs have been exchanged.

Latto has now been spotted filming for an upcoming music video in The Bronx with many of Ice Spice’s fans commenting on the move.

One said: “’Beefin’ with someone then going to their hood with a million bodyguards is corny because if you got to do all that, just don’t go at all because it doesn’t make you look gangsta.”

Ice Spice has made it clear that she isn’t on good terms with Latto, and that her most recent single is aimed at her peer.

The Bronx rap star released “Think U The Shit (Fart)” last month, which has bars many perceived to be a reference to her adversary’s “Put It On Da Floor.” Over a pounding, video game-inspired beat from RIOTUSA, Synthetic and Venny, she raps: “I got my foot on they necks, I can’t let up/ She all on the floor, told her get up.”

During a Twitter Spaces appearance on Friday (February 2), the “Much” hitmaker confirmed the song’s target, and cited the reason.

She recalled noticing her music video playing in the background of a short clip posted by the Atlanta rapper, and taking offense to that.

“Seeing that I’m in the back of your weak-ass snippet,” she said. “So I was like, ‘Wait a second — that’s me?’ So I’m like, ‘Okay, since we’re talking about me, let’s talk about me,’ and I dropped that.

“I was like, ‘This has to be fake — this is AI,’ but bitches be bold, so I was like, ‘Alright, we’re being bold today.’”

TYRESE CLAIMS BLACK COMMUNITY HAS ‘LOST [ITS] WAY’ & SOMETIMES WISHES HE WAS BORN LATINO

Tyrese has shared his thoughts on the values he believes are currently missing or diminishing in the larger Black community.

On Thursday (February 1), the first day of Black History Month, the actor and singer shared a clip from 2019 of a California man named Alfredo Valencia getting emotional upon learning that his children bought him a new truck for his birthday.

“Sometimes I wish I was born Latino,” the 45-year-old captioned the post. “I mean the Latin community is grounded in family, loyal, entrepreneurs, businessman, and women literally represent the dream, the grind the hustle doing whatever it takes to stick together against all odds.

“If us [as] black culture was more grounded in these integral magical nuances of us we would be dominant….”

The Fast & Furious star then proceeded to praise the Jewish community for “sticking together” (a sentiment that the ADL lists as a “traditional anti-Jewish trope”). He also complemented Muslims in the Middle East for valuing fathers and positioning men as “the head of the household,” contrasting it with what he considers a decline in his own community.

He continued: “I have no idea how we lost our way.. We can’t get anything done and accomplished, as a fragmented culture…. insecure, threatened by each other … Competitive towards our own race, killing ourselves every single day frivolously the majority of us is black men and the millions are locked up in prison.

“Of course we ARE we are beyond powerful, influential and successful, but imagine if we all linked up like other communities have linked? Poured and built up on each other Instead of moving like fragmented and dysfunctional…. We have what it TAKES to take over the WORLD!!! We are nothing trying to do it ALONE!! Please chime in…. Would love to know your thoughts on this….”
